Emilia was alerted to a body resembling her husband (Travis), which she stole from the morgue, believing it to be him. She left the body at the crossroads in her teleportation chamber, but it wandered off the path—a path that should never be strayed from without risking madness. When she returned, the body was gone. It is now wandering through her Wonderland. Emilia found her way through a forest to the tea party of the Patchwork Girl, but the Patchwork Girl and the other denizens (identities currently unspecified) refused to entertain her without her first acquiring one of three symbolic offerings: *Blessings of a Dead Woman*, *Tears from a Stone*, or *The Last Light of the Setting Sun*. The body that wandered is separate from David Davenport, who carries much of Travis’s mind and identity. Davenport suffers from dissociative identity disorder, and the personality of Travis is slowly overtaking him. Davenport is attempting to fulfill the legacy of the Sentinel. His encounters with Emilia have been strained and uncomfortable. Is considering tying the Maya Hero Twins—Hunahpu and Xbalanque—to Juan and Carlos Ruiz, potentially casting them as mythic reflections or Rifts embodying the legendary descent into the underworld and themes of duality, sacrifice, and resurrection. The group previously infiltrated the crypt of Dionysus, guarded by his maenads. While there is already a body associated with Travis, this past connection may carry symbolic or metaphysical significance for future narrative developments. The ring with two entwined snakes, once tied to the mythos of Tepēyōllōtl, serves as a recurring symbol across the campaign. Originally worn by Juan Ruiz Sr. during his time as a Rift, the ring was later passed (unknowingly) to Juan Jr. during his brief near-awakening. After Juan’s confrontation with the Rat Queen, the ring was lost—only to resurface with Coach Terrence De’Ath. Coach De’Ath, a player character (PC), found the snake ring a few months ago on an altar in the tunnels beneath the school and has had it since. The other characters—including Julia, Emilia, and Florence—have seen the ring but have not sensed its importance until now. It is now established that Travis briefly possessed the ring while acting as a Sentinel investigating Rift phenomena, possibly in collaboration with Juan Sr. or Jr. The ring was lost again following Travis’s erasure. Emilia would have seen Travis wearing the ring, though does not consciously remember this yet. In Julia’s dream, she will witness Travis wearing the ring—providing a symbolic and visual anchor that can later trigger Emilia’s recognition. Julia’s upcoming dream will trigger a recognition and unlock the ring’s symbolic and narrative significance. In the latest session of the City of Mist campaign, the group met with Iris Black and witnessed her prior meeting with Hannibal Singh, the Gatekeeper Auditor. Coach Terrence De’ath successfully convinced Iris (with a Dynamite success) that Penelope Kim is a serious threat. Iris is now fully on board with curtailing Penelope’s activities. Julia raised the issue of the snake ring, but it is still percolating as a background thread. Iris revealed her assignment was to monitor the anomaly beneath the school (the Maw), which she inherited after the disappearance of Arthur Ashcroft—whom she never met. She warned the group that Singh is auditing her. Exie negotiated a transactional role and has now been offered a job on the school maintenance team, working with Ernie (a sleeper with near-awakened insight). Iris has formally sanctioned the crew’s involvement, suggesting that handling Penelope is a more actionable path than confronting the Maw directly. Emilia brought up her three symbolic items (Tears from a Stone, Blessings of a Dead Woman, The Last Light of the Setting Sun), and the group is now brainstorming them outside of gameplay. The group is now functioning as a unified team, and the next stage of the story involves escalating Penelope’s antagonism. Penelope is not yet aware of Florence and her significance. Violet (Coach’s daughter) is a Rift—manifesting the female aspects of The Incredibles mythos—and may be a candidate for immunity to Penelope’s manipulations. However, the preferred immunity target is Ernie, the sleeper janitor on the maintenance team. Due to his near-awakened insight, obscurity, and consistent presence, he is a perfect candidate for Penelope’s next neutralization attempt.
